- Checklist for Outline Planning Permission (PDF, 161 KB)
- Application Forms
Outline Planning permission is necessary for a range of application types, especially if there is uncertainty about the compatibility of a proposed project. While the amount of drawings required for submittal is less than what is needed for final planning permission, the outline application is treated like any other application and goes through the same investigations. If Outline Planning Permission is granted or approved the applicant must then apply for the relevant Final Planning Permission with the final amended drawings for approval.
Outline Planning Permission does not replace Final Planning Permission, only precedes it. Final Planning Permission is used for any building application that does not need Outline. There are separate applications for Subdivision of Lands and Advertisement Signs.
If in doubt, it is always best to consult the Physical Planning and Development Authority.
